Butch Blackmon Memorial
Challenge Ride

The BBMCR is a long distance motorcycle ride to honor our fallen Brother.  Lest we forget.

The 2024 Butch Blackmon Memorial Challenge Ride will be an annual ride benefitting a scholarship program for the students of Milby High School in Houston, TX.  Milby was Butch Blackmon's High School alma-mater and the ride is hosted by The Blue Knights® International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Inc. Texas VII Chapter, an organization that Butch was a proud member of as well as a much loved Brother Blue Knight.

WHAT IS THE BUTCH BLACKMON MEMORIAL CHALLENGE RIDE?

The ride is to Honor our Brother Butch Blackmon, who has since transferred to the Blue Knights® International LEMC Heaven I.

Brother Butch was one of the founders of the Texas Honor Ride and began to raise funds for the PTSD Foundation of America-Houston Camp Hope.

This years ride is to honor Brother Butch, and Continue his work of raising funds.  We want to honor Butch by making the donations go toward a scholarship for his High School alma-mater : Milby High School.

All proceeds and future proceeds from the ride will go towards a continuing scholarship for outstanding Milby High School students to further their education by providing assistance.

HOW FAR IS THE CHALLENGE RIDE?

Well, how far can you ride in 24 hours?  That’s the great part of this ride, YOU DECIDE HOW FAR YOU WANT TO RIDE!!

We want you to have FUN while CHALLENGING YOURSELF.

There are categories of  Miles Ridden that will earn you a Certificate suitable for framing and placement next to the wedding/kids graduation/grandkids birthday photos.

WHERE DOES THE RIDE START AND END?

Well, where do you want to start YOUR RIDE?  We will have three locations for you to check-in and/or turn around at, but you decide if you want to start at home and ride to one of the locations, start at one location, ride to the other and then back home, start at one location, ride to the other and back to the original location, IT IS ALL UP TO YOU!!!

The five START/STOP/TURN AROUND locations are (1) Waffle House 1015 Hwy 6 north of I-10 Houston, Texas, (2) Tex Best Travel Center TX-80 @ I-10, Luling, TX, (3) Shell Station I-10 at Hwy 16 Kerrville, Texas, (4) The Road Ranger Truck Stop I-10 @ US-277 in Sonora, Texas and (5) Love's Travel Stop in Fort Stockton, Texas (see maps below). The ride will start at 4:00 AM on April 13, 2024 at each location and end at 4:00 AM on April 14, 2024 at each location. All locations will have BK TX VII Members to check you in and encourage you to KEEP ON RIDING!!

You DECIDE where you want to start, turn around, check in at, and HOW FAR YOU CAN GO!!!!

HOW MUCH IS REGISTRATION?

If you are riding alone, it is $50.00 and an additional $50.00 per passenger that you can LEGALLY carry on your motorcycle.

BUT YOU SAY YOU WANT TO DO MORE?  WELLLL... DO WE HAVE A DEAL FOR YOU!!

You can raise additional money by finding Mileage Sponsors.  You find the sponsors that are willing to sponsor you by donating a stated amount or so much per mile for every mile you ride.  At the end of your ride, you collect the money, mail it to us along with the Mileage Sponsor form, and that amount will be added to the money that was raised from your registration.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE BBBMCR 2024?

We will have our On-Line Registration up and running soon so stay tuned for the announcement that it's up and running.  We will also have links set up for downloading the Rider/Passenger(s) release, Mileage Sponsor, and any other forms that we find necessary.

SO, I DECIDE:
WHERE I START
WHAT ROUTE I TAKE
HOW FAR I WANT TO RDE
AND WHERE I WANT TO CHECK-IN/TURNAROUND/CHECK-OUT?

YUP, as long as you check in at least ONCE at one of the two locations.

NOW WHAT ARE THE RIDE CATEGORIES?
